There is now 15 days until Frank and I become parents of a very healthy baby boy!! It is so exciting and scary all at once. I had another appointment yesterday with our specialist. It went very well. Each time he told me that just out of concern as a doctor he will re-confirm my desire for a c-section. He did just that. We discussed everything again. The potential problems we might face with Jack being born a little early, the potential for some respiratory problems due to the early delivery, and possibility of him having a dependency on the medicine I’ve been taking for my pain. All concerns are valid and no stone has been left unturned. We are fully aware of everything that may be a problem. We are also aware of the great medical team that has been put together in the event of a problem. The doctor then went on to do the ultrasound just to make sure Jackson’s weight is on track, and boy is it!! If I were to carry him to term he would be 9lbs or more. Right now he is 6lbs 1oz and will most likely be about 7lbs by delivery. He has his dad’s head FOR SURE!! The doctor confirmed it is slightly larger than normal, but that there is no concern for medical problems. He then changed his own opinion of me doing a regular delivery. He has determined I’m too small to have to endure a normal birth with a baby whose head is that big. Guess Jack’s going to be very smart!! We also found out that I’m the first delivery of the day. So I should be in to O.R. for prep by about 6:30am and completely done and in recovery with Frank and Jack by 8:30am. Anyone who is planning to come visit, you are more than welcome to come, however Saturday would be a better day. Both our families are planning on being there most of the day on Friday. I’m pretty sure that there will be some pretty strict rules about how many visitors and all that simply due to the potential for Jackson to have some problems.
Other than that there really isn’t much new to report. Frank and I are doing very well and enjoying the last few moments we have as just the two of us. We are very much looking forward to being done and welcoming Jackson into this world. Frank is very excited to be a daddy and that makes me incredibly happy.
We hope that everyone else is doing just as well as we are.
